Let me bring the magic of bees and plants to your classroom! Presentations can be tailored to meet the BC curriculum and cover topics such as: lifecycles, farm to table, interdependence of species, nature inspired creativity, natural resources and more! I can do singular workshops or camps. Although I am always excited to make custom presentations, listed below are my most popular presentations.

Grades K-6

Grades 7-12

The Buzz About Bees
How do bees make honey? Do bees really dance? How many bees are native to B.C.? Learn the answers and more about the wild, fascinating world of bees! Our time together will include understanding how to identify common pollinators, lifecycles, and observing specimens. We can build the best presentation for your class and can even include a honey tasting and building native bee houses!

'Before I was scared about bees, but now I love them!' - Kendra M, 8 years old

Growing Microgreens
Empower your students to grow their own food!  Microgreens are perfect for everyone as they can be grown almost anywhere! Microgreens need very little to grow, but they pack a hugely nutritious punch with having up to 40 times the nutrients as their adult counterpart! The presentation will include exploring seeds, learning about growing microgreens, tasting microgreens, and planting. Students will walk away with a variety of planted microgreens to take home, and a wealth of planting knowledge.

'I was so surprised at how many different microgreens you can grow! They all taste so different and I can't wait to see mine grow' - Stacey A, 15 years old

Gardening 101
Bring the garden to the classroom! I will bring planting charts for each student, as well as seed packages for everyone to learn how to understand when and how to plant each seed. We will finish our time together by putting the knowledge we've learned into practice and students will get to start their own seedlings to take home!

'I have been gardening with my mom since I was a little kid, but now I feel like I know how to grow plants better' - Alex V, 15 years old

Mason Bees
Discover the fascinating lives of our native bees with a special focus on mason bees! We will cover their lifecycle, adaptations, and connection to our local environment. This workshop comes with the option of adding on a honey tasting as well as building or decorating bee houses for students to take home.

'I loved decorating my mason bee house! I can't wait to see the bees use it' - Sarah H, 12 years old
