Mason Bees Want to dive in to the magical world of bees but don't want to be a traditional beekeeper? Learn about how to help native bees, and even how to keep stingless mason bees! Our time together will include learning about the full life cycle of mason bees, creating the right environment for them to thrive, and can include making a bee house to take home 'I have had a bee house set up for years with no bees using it, but after this class I know how to make a better house and habitat for them' - Jenn
Microgreens Even people without green thumbs can grow microgreens! This approachable workshop lets you taste test different microgreens and leaves you with the confidence to grow your own (you'll also leave with seedlings to take home!) Gardening 101 Learn the basics of gardening by demystifying seeding charts, and find out the common mistakes people make when starting seedlings. Participants will walk away knowing how to choose the right seeds for their garden, and how to choose soil additives and fertilizers. Make this year the year your garden thrives! The Buzz About Bees How do bees make honey? Do bees really dance? How many bees are native to B.C.? Learn the answers and more about the wild, fascinating world of bees! Our time together will include understanding how to identify common pollinators, lifecycles, and observing specimens and a honey tasting 'I am so surprised at how complex bees are! Pollinator Walk & Talk Ever looked at a flower being pollinated and wondered what pollinator you're looking at? Learn how to tell common pollinators apart, and then explore your newfound knowledge on a pollinator walk! Learn about native bees that build nests out of flower petals, look at specimens, and finish off our time together with a honey tasting that is out of this world!
